Our social workers are dedicated to assisting patients and their families with practical needs, as well as helping them understand and cope with the challenges of living with a bleeding disorder. Social work services at our center include the following:

  • Assessing the needs of patients and families
  • Educating patients and families about bleeding disorders
  • Advocating on behalf of patients
  • Providing school in-services
  • Ordering medical identification jewelry

Our social workers also provide resources or make referrals to patients based on their needs, which include the following:

  • Referral to medical specialists
  • Referral to counselors and therapists
  • Vocational planning
  • Financial and transportation assistance
  • Networking with other patients and families
